Your skin is chafed, red and irritated after shaving is done? There are manynatural ways to relieve the burn that do not involve expensive face creams after
aftershave lotions.
- Aloe Vera - Snap off the tip of a
branch of Aloe Vera plant, squeeze out some of the clear liquid and apply
directly to the skin or use a commercial skin product that contains 100%
pure Aloe Vera gel.
- Avocado - Apply the topical fruit
directly to the skin for razor-burn relief.
- Cucumbers - Apply a slice directly
to the burn. OR peel a cucumber and avocado (if you want) , throw it into
the blender and apply the puree to the area..
-
Calendula
Cream - Rub some cream on the affected area.
Still, prevention is better than cure. Here are some of the tips that prevent
you to undergone painful experience.
- Change your razor blade after 3 or 4 times uses.
If a razor's edge is slightly dulled, you have to press hard and that will
cause more irritation on the skin.
- Some studies show that by alternating between
the use of a regular razor and a electric shaver can reduce the
razor burn. Use one for a month and use the other in another month.
- Wet your skin and hair when you are shaving
with a blade. Whereas, an electric
shaver is applied when your skin and hair is dry.
- Select the right shaving cream -
ideally use one with Aloe Vera as one of
the ingredient.
- Shave with your hair growth, not against it. This way will reduce skin
irritation. In another words, shaving down your legs or face is the right
way to go.
- Avoid aftershave, use witch hazel instead
- Aftershave contains lots of alcohol and that makes the chafing
worse. Whereas witch hazel will leaves your skin softer and soothed.
Try it and your suffering will be reduced. :)
