Back Pain causes a lot of inconvenience and hindrance to the normal lifestyle of a person. There are a number of Back Pain Causes, but the two most common causes related to discs are disc injury and degenerative disc. Disc degeneration leads to water content loss that narrows the gap between two vertebrae. This can cause pinching of a nerve and subsequent pain. At the ethereal level, stress, and emotional worries can cause muscle stiffness that leads to pain in the back. Most back pain cases can be attributed to emotional imbalance.

If your pain in the back is started by normal movements like bending or twisting, it could be a result of a slipped disc or a joint problem of the spine. It could also be because of muscle pull in the back. Muscular pain is among the common Back Pain Causes, which can occur while attempting to carry a heavy weight. Pain that is constant around the chest or mid back area could be the result of a fractured rib. The reason could be an injury or long set osteoporosis, which weakens the bones. Tips for choosing the best home-made wine ingredients:

Fruits must be ripe, but not over-ripe. A few shriveled grapes or black currants are unlikely to harm a brew. In the case of larger fruits such as plums, the doubtful ones should be taken out.

The choice of roots (beetroot, parsnips, etc.) for wine-making purposes should not be dismissed so readily. The best, (or even the only) roots suitable for wine-making are those that are old and shriveled. Parsnips that have been stored throughout the winter or left in the soil are at their best for our purpose in March, as are old potatoes purchased in June when the new ones are coming in. They are ideal if they are well shriveled and/or sprouting. (Be sure to break off the roots before using them.)

These old roots contain less starch than the fresher ones, and we do not want starch in wines because it slows down the clearing process. Besides this, when old roots are used, they flavor the wine less, and it is not in the least bit earthy.

It is a mistake to believe that using additional ingredients, (such as less water, or more sugar/yeast), than is indicated in the recipes, will produce a more potent wine. The strength of wine is decided by the volume of alcohol in which the yeast can live and continue to do its work, and not on the quantity of any ingredients. Too much sugar makes the wine far too sweet. More yeast makes no difference at all, simply because it cannot make more alcohol than it can live in. Age makes very little difference to the alcohol content of wines. Too many ingredients will produce a liquid of too high a specific gravity and a liquid containing too many solids per part of water, (in other words a liquid which is too thick) and this will take a very long time to clear.

Because of this, you should never use more ingredients than the recipe indicates.

About Straining:

Fine muslin is best for straining mixtures produced when making root wines. Tie one piece on the tub - allowing sufficient sag - and place a second piece over this.

This top piece containing the solids can be lifted off without letting them fall into the brew. Jelly bags or similar things made of suitable material are needed for fruit juices, as will be seen in the recipes.

About Sugar & Yeast:

You should always use white sugar, and make certain that all the sugar is dissolved before adding anything (like wheat or raisins) to the brew. If all the sugar is not dissolved, the yeast might not ferment properly & some of the sugar could settle in the form of syrup and be left in the lees when they are thrown away. As a result of this, the wine could turn out quite sharp. With a lot of other ingredients in the brew, it is quite impossible to tell whether all the sugar is dissolved or not.

Baker's yeast is all we need during this stage. This can be purchased at your local bakery. Yeast is added at the rate of one ounce per 1, 2 or 3 gallons.

Do not add the yeast too a temperature well below boiling point will destroy the yeast organism and fermentation will not take place.

Hey all:

Let's talk a bit about Propecia, the newest 'wonder drug' for fighting hair loss. Propecia, which is a trademark or brand name for the drug 'finasteride', is a prescription medicine used for the treatment of male-pattern baldness. In some studies, Propecia stopped hair loss and caused some hair to re-grow in up to 48 percent of men with hair loss at the top of the head or at the back and middle part of the scalp when treated for 12 months. At 24 months, 66 percent of men reported improvement. Not bad actually, compared to other drugs and treatments used in the past.

However, you may need to use Propecia daily for three months or longer before you see an obvious change in hair loss.. It may take up to six months before hair grows back. If you�re using the drug and see no effects within 12 months, the drug will probably not work for you. So it's not a cure all and it doesn't work for everyone. And there can be side effects.

Side effects of Propecia can include: decreased sex drive, impotence, breast tenderness or enlargement (I mean you, guys). Other side effects or reactions may occur, so see your doctor if you experience anything unusual while taking the drug. Apparently, continued use of Propecia can often resolve these side effects as the body compensates for the drug's presence in the body. Maybe.

Is Propecia right for you? That�s for you and your doctor to decide. There�s no way, except by actually using the drug for several months, to know if it will have any effect on your hair loss. And in the meantime, you�ve spent X amount of dollars on a treatment that may not work. However, Propecia is becoming cheaper all the time (just do a search and see how many online stores are selling it-prices are good as the competition heats up).

So there you are a bit about Propecia. It�s not a cure-all or wonder drug, unless it works for you, and then it's a miracle! Maca root grows in the mountains of Peru at high altitudes of 7,000 to 11,000 feet, making it the highest altitude growing plant in the world. Maca is a radish-like root vegetable that is related to the potato family, and is tuberous and spherical in form. The root itself is about three to six centimeters across and 4.7 centimeters in length. There are four recognized types of Maca Root based on the color of the root. Charcot Foot disease is a little known complication that can affect anyone who has diabetes. This condition also occurs in non-diabetic patients too, but diabetics can be more prone to this disease due to a diabetic complication known as neuropathy (nerve damage) Nerve damage can stop someone from feeling pain, so the foot can get injured without the person being aware that something is wrong.

The Charcot Foot condition is a very serious condition. Joints and bones can literally be crushed without being known to the sufferer. Imagine breaking your foot and not knowing that it�s broken due to no pain being felt. As time wears on, those broken bones (and sometimes joints) can suffer irreparable damage, with the person walking on the foot normally instead of the foot being in a cast and trying to heal.

Once this damage happens the foot can become misshapen, become dislocated, warm to the touch, and the arch of the foot can literally collapse. The Charcot condition is often called a 'silent' disease since a sufferer might not know there is a problem until massive damage has occurred.

Treatment for this condition, traditionally has been to apply a cast so the fractures and dislocations can heal. The foot would be immobilized for a long period of time (often a year or more). Surgery, although done in some cases is ruled out for many patients due to an increased risk of the foot not healing properly.

Some patients must wear a special brace on their foot/leg in order to be able to walk with the Charcot condition present. It�s extremely important for the foot to stay as stable as possible in order to avoid future additional damage such as ulcers, infection and amputation.

A Charcot Foot (also called a Charcot Fracture) can bring devastating changes to a person's life. Depending on the environmental conditions where you

live, there may be extra precautions that you'll want to consider when trying to lose weight by following a healthy diet and weight loss program.


High altitude environments have less available oxygen then those closer to sea level. One of the effects of such altitude is that the heart must beat faster in order to do the job of delivering oxygen to the muscle tissues both while active and at rest.

Depending on the specific altitude and corresponding acitivity, heart rates may soar as high as 50% above normal. Also, side effects like hyperventilation, dizziness, insomnia, weakness, headache, and irratability are also common in such an environment.

Because of these possible outcomes, people who exercise in high altitudes will definitely want to consult a local physician for clearance before beginning their weight loss exercise program, and may want to lower the intensity of their weight loss cardiovascular activity---especially if they are beginners.

People living in high altitudes will also want to get medical clearance before trying any diet pills, diet patch, or any other weight loss product(s) that may elevate the heart rate to eliminate risk of more complicated health concerns.


Under normal circumstances, the body's temperature is at or around 98�. In areas that have very high temperatures (around 100� or more), the body must adjust to maintain the proper temperature by transferring some of its heat back into the environment.

The primary result of this reaction is that he heart rate will be higher than normal, similar to the effect of being in high altitudes. To best aid the body in maintaining its normalcy under such conditions, make sure to drink 3 to 6 oz. of water for every 10 to 15 minutes of weight loss activity and allowing as much sweat to evaporate as possible. The fact of the matter is that water is lost as vapor as inhaled during cardiovascular exercise and other activities that help you to ultimately lose weight. There is also a risk of losing too much body heat once you are done exercising.

To best be prepared to exercise in order to lose weight fast while living in cold environments, make sure to dress in layers to insulate body heat and drink plenty of water. Also wear a hat to limit the amount of body heat that escapes through the head, which is where most body heat is lost from.

There are many methods used to cook a moist and tasty Roasted Turkey. Most methods rely on basting. The turkey can be basted every 30 minutes with a basting bulb, or covered with cheesecloth soaked in butter. Other methods include brining the turkey (soaking in a salt water solution for 8-10 hours), or injecting a basting solution into the meat. Whatever method you prefer, proper roasting is key to tender moist meat.

Completely thaw the turkey. Start early and thaw the turkey in the refrigerator or in a place where the air temperature is no higher than 40 degrees. A 20-pound turkey takes about two or three days to thaw completely. Be sure the turkey is thawed completely, until no ice appears in the inner cavity and the meat is soft. Be careful: If the inner cavity is still frozen or even partially frozen when you put the turkey in the oven, the outside of the bird will be done before the inside, and the inside temperature will not be hot enough to destroy disease-causing bacteria, or if it is the outside meat will be dried out before the center is done.

Remove the neck and giblets from the cavities. If this is your first time cooking the turkey, be sure that both cavities are emptied. Reserve the neck and giblets for use in preparing the giblet gravy, if desired.

Prepare the stuffing. If you are preparing the stuffing early, mix only the dry ingredients. It is recommended that you cook the stuffing separately, but if you do stuff the turkey, do not stuff it until you are ready to roast it. Stuff the cavity loosely. Do not pack it. If you choose to cook the stuffing separately, you can place a quartered onion and some celery leave and other desired herbs in the cavity for flavor.

Prepare a basting sauce. I prefer to baste with melted butter to which I add fresh or dried herbs. You can also baste with a mixture of wine and butter. Baste the turkey with your sauce and place a loose tent of aluminum foil over the turkey to prevent the skin from burning before the turkey is cooked. This tent will be removed during the last 45 minutes or so of cooking. If you are using cheesecloth, soak the cheesecloth with the basting sauce and place over the breast and drape onto the thighs. When using cheesecloth, you do not need the foil tent. Baste the turkey every 30 minutes during roasting.

Roast your turkey at 325 degrees for the recommended time for the weight of your turkey. These times are approximate and should be confirmed with a meat thermometer. Be sure to check the thermometer about 3/4th of the way through the time indicated so as not to overcook. Dry meat will result if the turkey is overcooked. The following table gives approximate times for roasting turkey at 325 degrees F.

The turkey must be roasted all at once. You cannot partially cook it ahead for later finishing. This method has been shown to increase the chances of food borne illnesses.

For safety and doneness the internal temperature must reach 180 degrees F in the thigh and 170 in the center of the breast. If the turkey is stuffed, the stuffing should reach 165 degrees F in the cavity. This temperature is essential to prevent food borne disease, and should be measured with a meat thermometer. The pop-up thermometer that comes in many turkeys serves as a good approximate of doneness, but should not be relied on as the ultimate authority. When placing the meat thermometer in the thigh or breast, it is important not to touch the bone. The bone conducts heat and will be hotter than the meat. Do not allow the cooked meat to come into contact with anything that has touched the raw turkey.

During the last 30 - 45 minutes of cooking, remove the foil tent to encourage browning. If you desire to use a glaze, spread it over the turkey now with a pastry brush.

After dinner, separate the stuffing from the turkey and refrigerate leftovers immediately. Within a few hours bacterial will begin to grow causing disease if the meat is not quickly cooled. Large chunks of meat will cool slowly, and therefore should be refrigerated immediately to begin the cooling process. Meat, stuffing, and gravy can also be cooled, then frozen for future use.

Luke warm leftovers allow bacterial growth. Food eaten cold will not have the opportunity for further growth, however when heating leftover, they should be heated to at least 165 to kill bacteria.

So, you have acne, now what ? How many over the counter, prescription, or surgical methods are there to treat this annoying skin breakout problem ? Well, there are countless products, but did you ever consider home remedies for acne flareups ?

You likely already know that acne is a skin disorder caused by increased hormones, the enlargement of sebaceous glands that are attached to the hair follicles, increased sebum or oil production and the presence of acne causing bacteria on the skin.

It is advisable to consult your physician or dermatologist before doing anything, but here are ten safe and effective home remedies for acne that can be used and some possible dosages - however, do not go crazy and use too much of these natural acne treatments.

1. Vitamins - one of the safest home remedies for acne is treatment through vitamins such as niacin, vitamin A, and Vitamin E.

For effective results, you'll likely have to take at least 100 milligrams (mg) of niacin, 50,000 international units of vitamin A three times a day and 400 mg of vitamin E once daily for at least one month. Of course, check with your physician if you're not sure.

2. Zinc - the use of zinc in curing acne is becoming more popular in the field of nutrition and wellness nowadays. After showcasing impressive results in some acne cases, more and more people are now taking in zinc in therapeutic dosages of 50 mg one to three times daily. Try this daily for a month and then reduce the dose to 25 mg a day. Stop using it if you get undesirable side effects.

Available in tablet and in capsule forms, the acquisition of zinc is now related to the treatment of acne. In its tablet form, zinc can be purchased under the name Zinfet in 200 mg capsule form, or it can be bought under the name Ulseal at 220 mg a pill. The product may also be simply labelled Zinc and each drug store often has their own brand name, which can cost less than popular brands.

3. Orange peels - strange, but true, aside from being a good source of vitamin C, an orange peel has become a popular home remedy for curing acne. After pounding the peel with water on a piece of stone, the patient can apply the mixture on to the areas affected by acne.

4. Lemons - don't laugh, this is probably one of the simplest remedies you can do at home to cure your acne. By extracting the lemon fruit juice and applying it regularly on the skin, you can terminate persistence pimples that may cause acne.

5. Garlic - Contrary to common conception, the use of garlic is indeed one of the most effective ways to treat facial blemishes. By rubbing raw garlic on the affected area several times a day, it acts like an acne cleanser and you can achieve clearer skin in a short period of time.

And by eating at least three seeds of raw garlic daily for a month, you can purify your blood stream and cleanse it to keep problematic bacteria away. Of course, nobody will want to get near you, but that's just the price you might have to pay for a while - just kidding.

6. Coriander and mint juice - okay, we are not losing our minds here - some people have used this with success - another known effective home remedy for acne is the application of coriander juice, or mint and turmeric powder mixture on the face. Make sure that you cleanse your face thoroughly before applying it at night.

7. Fenugreek paste remedy - aside from using its seed to make curry powder, fenugreek, through its leaves, can be a useful treatment for acne. Making a paste out of its leaves, you can produce a facemask that can be applied at night to prevent pimples and blackheads.

8. The cucumber answer - grated cucumber is considered as the best toner for the skin. By applying grated cucumber slices on the face, eyes, and neck for 15 to 20 minutes a day for a week or so, you can eliminate persistent blackhead and pimples.

9. Fruit and a well balanced diet - eating fresh juicy fruits apples, pears, grapes, peaches, and pineapples and peaches combined with healthy vegetables can eliminate the possibility of developing acne.

10. Other home remedies for acne include exposure to the sun (in moderation and with proper sunscreen applied) and even a hot epsom salts bath.

Eggs are one of the most nutritious and versatile foods that there is. They can be eaten fried, baked or as an ingredient in everything from main dishes to desserts. Eggs can be either brown or white - the color does not change the quality or the flavor.

Store eggs in their own carton in the refrigerator. The carton protects the eggs from absorbing other food flavors through their shells. Fresh eggs are best for poaching or baking while older eggs are better for beating egg whites.

Most recipes call for large eggs which are about 2 ounces each. When cooking with eggs, bring them to room temperature before cooking. Eggs are sensitive to temperature. They will continue to cook if they are left in a hot pan so move them to a serving dish immediately after cooking.

Some recipes may require the use of either egg whites or egg yolks. The best way to separate eggs is by using their own shells. Avoid touching egg whites with your fingers or greasy surfaces, especially if they are going to be beaten.

Beaten egg whites are used in souffles and mousses. A pinch of salt added before starting to beat them will help them stiffen faster. Don't over-beat or they will become too stiff. Egg yolks are often beaten separately with or without sugar. This helps increase volume and lightens sauces such as Hollandaise or adds air for cakes or batters.

Older eggs are easier to peel than fresh eggs. Plunge the cooked egg into very cold water immediately after cooking. This helps loosen the shell for easier removal. It also prevents the greenish ring around the yolk. Hard-boiled eggs may be refrigerated in their shells up to a week.

Folding egg whites is one of the more important cooking techniques. Because beaten egg whites contain so much air, they are difficult to add to a batter mixture without losing volume. Do not over-beat egg whites or they will not mix smoothly and will deflate. Begin by adding about one-quarter of the beaten whites to the batter and stir them in thoroughly. Then, spoon in the remaining egg whites and gently fold them in, using a rubber spatula or metal spoon. Cut down into the center of the mixture to the bottom and scoop under and up along one side of the bowl, turning the bowl as you work.

You will often hear about boiling eggs, but they should never really be boiled. They should be gently simmered. The eggs should be at room temperature before cooking to avoid cracking.

Poached eggs are cooked in simmering water. Use the freshest eggs possible; the fresher the egg, the better the egg will hold its shape. Only cook one or two eggs at a time in a wide saucepan with 3 inches of water. Break egg into a small dish and using a wooden spoon, stir the water vigorously to form a swirl. Quickly slide the egg into the swirl. Simmer for 3-4 minutes and lift the egg out with a slotted spoon.

Baked eggs are sometimes called "shirred eggs." They are usually baked one to a dish (a ramekin) with salt and pepper and dotted with a small amount of butter. Put the ramekins into a small casserole filled with boiling water and bake for 5 to 6 minutes until the white is just set and the yolk is still soft. Serve immediately.

Eggs can also be scrambled, fried, and used to make omelets, custards, crepes and souffles.

We've all seen them. Clusters of big, gourmet cookies, individually wrapped in shiny, colored cellophane, with bows and ribbons. They come in many styles and with different treats, toys or gift items attached to or inside a basket or vase of some sort. They make a terrific and edible gift idea. After all, who doesn't love cookies? Sadly, they can be very expensive gifts, especially when considering that cookies don't cost a whole lot to bake.

Here's how to make your own cookie bouquets at home without spending a fortune!

What You Will Need:

Chopsticks or Wooden Skewers - Make sure they are heat-proof. If you're baking smaller cookies, then popsicle sticks would also work.

Cookies - Find a delicious cookie recipe that makes larger size cookies, (your favorite or your gift recipients favorite will do fine)

Container - This needs to be a sturdy container that is a bit bottom heavy, especially if you plan to include more than a few big cookies. You can try putting some pebbles in the bottom to make sure the container won't tip over, if needed. Some ideas for containers include: a coffee mug, a metal or plastic pail, a basket, a vase, a planter, cookie jar or glass jar, glass bottle, a toy or wood box of some sort, teapot, porcelain or pottery serving ware.

Cellophane - The shiny, colored kind looks best, but the colored plastic wrap you get at your local supermarket would work too.

Ribbon - The curly kind works well for this. Any colors you like.

Decorations - Anything goes! What's appropriate to the occasion and what does the gift recipient like? Some ideas include: stuffed animals, small toys, candy, balloons, fake or real flowers, stickers or whatever you find at the local craft store.

Block of styrofoam or florists foam - You know that stereo you bought last December? You probably kept the box, just search your garage for some spare, clean, stryofoam.

Something to cover up the stryofoam or florist's foam - You can use a big ribbon, some moss, plastic grass, tissue paper crumpled up or whatever else you have handy.

Before you bake the cookies, you must insert the chopstick or wooden skewer into one side of each cookie. Push it in almost the length of the cookie without going out the other end. This is an important step, as if your cookie is too big and your stick is not sturdy enough, the stick won't hold it and the cookie may fall apart when you pick it up. When baking big cookies, you probably won't be able to fit more than 3 cookies with their sticks to a cookie sheet.

2. After baking the cookies with their sticks, cool the cookies thoroughly, then wrap each one with the colored cellophane. A different color for each cookie would be ok, or all the same color appropriate to the occasion. Tie each one with some curly ribbon at the base where the stick comes out of the cookie. Tie it very tightly so the cookies will stay fresh on the stick. You can adorn each cookie with additional, larger ribbons or bows at this point. When using curly ribbon, don't forget to curl it!

3. Now cut your styrofoam or florist's foam to the size of the top of the container you chose. Then fit the foam in so it is nice and tight and near the top of the container. Remember, you can place something heavier in the bottom of the container so that it does not tip over. Small pebbles work well for this. Remember that the sticks will poke through the foam and into the bottom of the container.

4. Here comes the fun part, let's assemble the cookie bouquet! Take each of your cookies and stick them through the foam so they go all the way through the foam and further, near to the bottom of the container. You can assemble the cookies in any manner you like, but most cookie bouquets have one cookie at the center that is taller than the other cookies, so keep that in mind. Decorate with additional ribbons, toys, candy, flowers, gifts etc. Each item can be attached with additional ribbon to the container or the sticks of the cookies or even with a glue gun (if appropriate).

5. Give your gift and watch the smiles! Make sure to give the bouquet as soon as possible after you have assembled it, you don't want the cookies to go stale!


Make sure you bake enough cookies for your container, if baking small cookies, you may run out if you are filling a large container. Always bake more than enough. Surely your extras won't go to waste.

Bake both large and small cookies and use them both in the bouquet for a nice varied look, like a more traditional flower bouquet.

Some cookie bouquets use cutout cookies, these can be fun to make and decorate. Use your favorite sugar cookie cutout recipe and cut into shapes appropriate for the occasion. For cutout cookies to work, you may want to double your sugar cookie recipe as the cookies need to be nice and thick for the stick to go through them. For this type of cookie, wooden skewers will work best, chopsticks may be too thick. Then decorate the cookies with frosting or icing. The icing should be the kind that hardens a little so that it won't stick to the wrapping. No need for colored cellophane with these cookies, use regular plastic wrap or clear cellophane so that the beauty of your hand decorated cookies shines through.

Remember, your cookie bouquet doesn't need to look professional, it's the homemade touch that makes it a truly special gift.

Fall is a great time to try out some new pumpkin recipes. There's nothing like the smell of fresh baked pumpkin bread or cookies in the kitchen! You have to give this pumpkin cornbread a try.

Cranberry Pumpkin Bread

2 eggs, beaten slightly
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 cup canned pumpkin
2 1/4 cups flour
1 cup chopped cranberries
1 tablespoon pumpkin pie spice
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt

Cooking Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine eggs, sugar, vegetable oil, and pumpkin, mixing well. Combine flour, pumpkin pie spice, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl. Make a well in the center of the batter and add the pumpkin. Stir in cranberries. Spoon batter into 2 greased and floured loaf pans. Bake for 1 hour.

Pumpkin Cupcakes

3/4 cup melted butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 cup canned pumpkin

Cooking Instructions:

Combine butter and sugar, beat in eggs 1 at a time, sift in dry ingredients and mix well. Stir in pumpkin. Pour into greased cupcake pans. Bake 15 minutes at 375 degrees.

Pumpkin Cornbread

1 cup pureed pumpkin
1 cup milk
1 tablespoon butter
1/4 cup sugar
2 cups corn meal
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 eggs, separated

Cooking Instructions:

Heat milk, butter, and sugar in saucepan to melt butter. Put pumpkin in a bowl and add milk mixture. Add corn meal, 1/2 cup at a time, and stir to blend. Add salt and egg yolks and stir in. In another bowl, beat egg whites and fold in batter. Grease an 8 inch square pan. Bake at 375 degrees for 35 minutes.

Pumpkin Cookies

2/3 cup vegetable oil
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 cup cooked pumpkin
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup chopped pecan nuts

Cooking Instructions:

Mix oil, sugar, egg, and pumpkin together and add remaining ingredients. Drop by spoonfuls on greased cookie sheet. Bake 10 to 12 minutes at 350 degrees. Makes 3 dozen cookies.

Pain and soreness is normal following exercise. If you are sore give your body time to heal before you exercise again. Mistake: Sacrificing Quality for Quantity: Over exhaustion can lead to poor form and performing an exercise incorrectly can inhibit results and lead to injury. In order to increase intensity and push yourself further safely try increasing the number of sets you do instead of increasing the number of repetitions per set. If needed decrease the number of repetitions per set in order to do more sets. This type of exercise can help develop your fast twitch muscle fibers.

Myth: Lifting Weights make Woman Bulky: Woman can use weight training to strengthen and tone up, burn fat and increase their metabolism without getting huge muscles. Woman do not have the hormones to grow large muscles like men do. The results of weight training also depend a lot on how weights are used. For example, using progressively heavier weight while decreasing repetitions is conducive to muscle growth while lower weight for more reps tones and burns fat.

Mistake: Doing Only what you are Good At: Work on your weaker areas initially while maintaining your strong points. If you have a strong upper body then focus on your lower body until you are more balanced.

Exercise is great for health and for life but do it wisely so you can continue to exercise for a long time.

It seems there's always a new diet treatment hitting the market, or talk of a magic pill that will eliminate fat. Whether you choose to partake in any of these new treatments or not, it's wise to remember the basics of healthy eating.

Just what is "healthy eating?" Is it only fruits and vegetables? Is it never eating sugar? It is eating only organic foods? Well, to some people, that is healthy eating. But, for the purposes of this article, when I refer to healthy eating I'm referring to balancing the food you eat to stay healthy. By keeping your diet balanced, you'll find you are giving your body the vitamins and minerals it needs to stay strong. This in turn gives you energy and helps you maintain a healthy weight.

What are some basic tips for healthy eating?

1. Don't skip any meals

That might sound odd to some people who believe you can only lose weight when you eat less. But, in fact, skipping meals is not healthy, and can actually keep you from maintaining your desired weight. Why? Well, one reason is that your metabolism increases when you eat. And, when the metabolism is increased, you burn more energy. Eating 3 meals with snacks in between is the ideal way to maintain both energy and a healthy weight. What's that, you say, a snack in between? That's right; a snack in between smaller meals is actually good for you. First, it can help you not feel so hungry at meals. And, when you don't feel so hungry at meals, you tend not to eat as much. And, second, eating 5 smaller meals a day helps prevent the large spikes and drops in your blood sugar associated with fewer meals a day.

2. Chew slowly

This advice may seem a bit corny, but it makes sense. When you wolf down your food you aren't giving your brain time to register when you�re full, which takes about 20 minutes. By the time you finally get the signal it's too late and you've eaten far more than you needed to. Therefore, if you chew your food slowly it slows down your eating.

3. Learn how to prepare foods

Instead of deep frying, try grilling, stir frying, microwaving, baking, boiling and, in the case of vegetables - raw. And, if you really insist on using butter for cooking, try a butter substitute. I use a yogurt butter which is half the fat of regular butter, but tastes the same as real butter. If you use butter to add flavor to food, try something else for a change, like lemon, vinegar or dried herbs and spices. Before you eat any type of meat, be sure to trim it of fat and skin.

4. Avoid alot of sugar

If you can eliminate sugar, good for you, but, if you can't, at least cut down. Drinks that contain sugar are a major source of empty calories. If you plan to drink sugary drinks, don't go overboard - limit yourself to one a day.

5. Skip the diet foods

If you follow healthy eating guidelines, there's really no need to buy prepared diet foods. A good number of these foods contain chemicals and additives that can be counterproductive to a healthy diet. A healthy portion of "real" food beats a heaping of prepared diet food any day, and doesn't leave you feeling deprived.

Eating healthier doesn't have to be difficult. The key is to be mindful of what and how you�re eating. Noticing is the first step in changing behavior.
