When most people hear the word 'anemia', they immediately think of iron. But a shortage of Vitamin B6 can also cause a type of anemia because this vitamin is vital to the healthy generation of hemoglobin in the blood of a normal, healthy person. You may also associate Vitamin B6 with sugar diabetes, and that�s because one of the important functions of this vitamin is to regulate the amount of sugar in the blood.

Vitamin B6 is also known as pyridoxine. You may not have heard of many people who were found to have a serious Vitamin B6 deficiency, and there�s a good reason for that. B6 is so readily available in so many foods that it's a fairly simple matter to get your daily recommended allowances of this vitamin.

Three raw bananas also provide a full day's supply of the necessary Vitamin B6. A medium baked potato (including the potato skin) provides about one-third of the daily requirement. Evaluating the foods rich in this vitamin reveals that many people are already meeting the daily requirements for B6.

So what are the dangers of having too little Vitamin B6 in your daily diet? Recent studies suggest that a lack of this vitamin is a factor for determining the risk of stroke and some types of heart disease. That means that people with deficiencies are more likely to suffer from these health issues than their counterparts who are getting sufficient amounts of Vitamin B6.

Depression is another problem potentially impacted by a Vitamin B6 deficiency. Though there may be some difference of opinion as to the role and the importance of B6 and depression, there appears to be a link that can�t be denied. In fact, depression is listed by some as one of the symptoms of insufficient Vitamin B6 in the diet.

There are some risks of taking too much B6. Nerves ' especially in the outer extremities ' are sometimes damaged by overdosing the body on vitamin B6. In the majority of cases, simply eliminating any vitamin supplements appears to eliminate the nerve problems as well. It�s unlikely that a normal person can take in enough Vitamin B6 from a normal diet to cause toxicity at this level, and more likely that these severe effects of too much B6 are caused by taking too many vitamin supplements containing B6.

Tennis elbow is also known as 'lateral epicondylitis'. Contrary to popular belief, playing tennis is not the only cause for tennis elbow. In fact, people who suffer from this problem have hardly played the game. In this condition the outer part of the elbow becomes painful and tender. The pain causes the movements of the elbow to be constrained. Simple actions such as lifting, gripping and carrying become difficult. One of the strongest reasons for this condition is the overuse of muscles i.e. the muscles which pull the hand backwards (the wrist extensors). Over straining causes an inflammation that may be swollen, painful and tender. Injury to the arm can be another reason for inflammation. Tennis elbow is mainly caused when some activities like gripping, twisting, reaching and moving are done in an improper manner or an awkward position, repetitive stress, excess force and no time for recovery provided for the wear and tear.

Some of the movements which can be restricted or can avoid repetitiveness are continuous rotation of the forearm and bending of the wrist, gripping in a stressful position by combining inward and outward movement of the forearm, throwing motions and gestures that strike objects with hand.

Working to become a better you can cut down anxiety and panic attacks. Things that create stress are called stressors. Stressors can happen outside of you or in your mind. For something to be stressful, the event must be threatening to you in some way. Usually a stressor is threatening when it will have a big impact on you. It is important to know that stressors are the leaders of stress, and often target us each and every day.

It is not uncommon that people are the main creator of stressors. They are constantly pulling you away from your daily plans and goals, just to talk, wanting you go out with them, or other disruptive tasks and sometimes chores. Remember that you are working toward a future that you will live and be happy in. Thus, asserting self and standing up and fighting to reach your goals is ultimate in bettering you and getting rid of anxiety and panic.

If you had 12 months of continuous coverage, you will not have any waiting period for a pre-existing condition on the new health insurance plan.

CONTINUOUS COVERAGE is defined as continuous health insurance coverage with no lapse of more than 62 days. If you go more than 62 days without coverage, you may have to suffer the full waiting period for pre-existing conditions. For example, if you were taking High Blood Pressure medication, you may have to wait 12 months after starting and paying for the new insurance before the insurance would cover the High Blood Pressure medication.

Although the term 'traditional naturopathy' originated in the late 19th Century, the art can be traced back through Germany into Greece, to Hippocrates himself, and even beyond. There have always been people who understood that healing will occur naturally in the human body, if it is given what it truly needs, that is proper diet, pure water, fresh air, sunlight, exercise, and rest. For these people, the emphasis has not been on finding a disease and killing it, but rather on helping the body establish its own state of good health. Today, these people are known as traditional naturopaths or naturopathic consultants.

While traditional naturopaths recognize that allopathic health care is, at times, necessary, they understand that many accepted allopathic treatments may be harmful or ineffective in promoting health. Allopathic philosophy holds that disease is caused by external agents. According to this philosophy, a cure will result when offending agents are eliminated. In addition, the allopathic approach also tends to look at the symptom and the disease as one and the same, so that when the symptom has been eliminated, it is presumed that the disease is cured. The naturopath, however, sees a symptom as nothing more than a signal that something is wrong. According to naturopathic belief, when a symptom alone is eliminated, it is most likely being suppressed. Unless the original cause has also been eliminated, the symptom may return later in a chronic form.

Naturopaths Do

The origin of 'education' was celebrated in the Latin phrase docendo discimus: "by teaching we learn."

In teaching clients how to live a healthy, holistic lifestyle, traditional naturopaths follow these principles:

Do no harm.

Primum non nocere is part of the Hippocratic oath. naturopaths do not use harmful, artificial substances such as drugs and pharmaceuticals; nor do they use invasive and dangerous procedures, such as surgery.

Recognize the healing power of nature.

Naturopaths understand the body's innate capacity for self-healing. They educate clients in creating external and internal environments conducive to healing.

It doesn't take brain surgery to know that we are exposed to toxic chemicals. The list is extensive:

- Herbicides
- Pesticides
- 3000 chemicals are used in food
- Hormones and Antibiotics in tap water
- Heavy metals in fertilizers
- Rocket fuel in our lettuce
- Teflon in microwave popcorn
- Genetically Engineered grains
- Soy products causing birth defects, and cancer
- MSG in 95 % of prepared foods
- Aspartame � Equal � causes weight gain

The list goes on and on

What can we do to improve our lives?

Simple - Start at the grass roots level.

Unhealthy Soil = Unhealthy Plants and Animals = Unhealthy People

There are no trace minerals in our soils. This translates to our food, our gardens, lawns, pasture for our animals (cows that we eat or horses that we love).

Linus Pauling stated that almost every disease is related to the lack of trace minerals in our food - cancer, high blood pressure, degenerative diseases.

Replacing trace minerals is cheap and easy to do. Rent a spray rig,

purchase molasses from your feed store, and spray you lawn, garden, or pastures.

What the Food Industry Doesn't Want You to Know!

It is absolutely overwhelming to write about this topic because there are so many chemicals that are absorbed into our bodies. In fact, the space constraints make it impossible to discuss everything in this article.

I have just finished my diet book about 'Obesity and What Causes It' but it could have been just as easily called �Disease and What Causes It�. Obesity and Disease are caused by one and the same - CHEMICALS.

The food industry has bragged they could imitate any food flavor and they have. MSG (Mono Sodium Glutamate) is the most common chemical used in foods today and it can trick you tongue into believing anything bland is a gourmet meal. A perfect example is some of the 'healthy meals' in the grocery store freezer sections. Without MSG, you would think you were eating grass. In fact most of the things in these meals are plant derived and seasoned with multiple chemicals.

I suggest you need to read labels, but to do so you need to learn the lingo.

* Spices - MSG does not have to be put on the label if it is less than 50% of 'Spices' � And you thought MSG wasn't in your food.

* Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein - You don't know what this 'stuff' adds to your foods? HVP is made from Vegetables that are not edible. The vegetables are cooked with an acid until it is a mush. It's then neutralized with caustic soda. It is dried and mixed with MSG and placed into prepared foods.

* Soy this or Soy that - Soy is not a healthy food but by using phantom foundations to proclaim soy virtues food companies have made us believe that soy is a health food. First of all, 85% of soy beans are GMO ( Genetically Modified Organisms ) the GMO foods are NOT made for our good health or nutrition. They were made to monopolize and control food profits all over the world. They were also made so the farmer would have to use more chemicals in growing their crops. The chemicals are herbicides, pesticides, fungicides, and toxic fertilizers that many times contain heavy metals like mercury, lead, aluminum, and arsenic.

This is a small list, but I think you get the idea there are some chemicals that you don�t want and when you eat prepared foods, you are consuming these chemicals. Actually, there are over three thousand chemicals that are used in the food processing business to save money or maximize profits in manufacturing.

These companies are so cheap or so determined to make money at our expense, they do not even use garlic or onions. They have chemicals that imitate these two flavors.

What is the solution to chemicals in our foods? Don�t buy prepared foods. Someone in the family needs to get into the kitchen and prepare meals with the love that our mothers or grandmothers used to provide. The foods shouldn't be in plastic containers, aluminum cans or steel cans sealed with lead seams.

Obesity, cancer, heart disease, birth defects - 65%of adults have a degenerative disease, childhood cancer is the fastest growing cancer in the world and many other problems are cause by chemicals in our diets. We need to minimize chemicals, learn how to detoxify, and supplement properly (until you learn to buy, or grow healthy food). There are no healthy foods in a regular type grocery store today.

As a health professional I was always interested in disease prevention but found the medical model ' drug companies and doctors ' unacceptable. The medical model towards disease is that they want us ' the people ' to contract disease and they will prevent us from dieing as long as we continue to take their drugs for the rest of our lives. This is their idea of preventive medicine. The population expects prevention to prevent disease before we get sick.

I became overweight and like most people blamed it on me and my eating habits, but I knew that diets and potions on TV DO NOT WORK and therefore put off doing anything until I stumbled across a solution.

In 1999 I began itching and it got worse almost by the day. I started taking antihistamines to reduce the itching and over a 10 month time period visited 4 dermatologists. The first 3 doctors miss diagnosed my problem. The forth discovered the cause but I had to use a pesticide all over my body to correct the condition � I know this seems strange but I had an infestation of Norwegian mites under my skin (I didn�t even know that mites had a pedigree much less a country of origin).

When I used the pesticide to kill the mites I swelled up like the Pillsbury Dough Boy. With this ordeal I gained even more weight and ended up looking like Porky the Pig. I also lost my sense of taste because of all the antihistamines.

In 2002 I did some consulting work for a supplement company and they gave me a gift book by Sherry Rogers, MD. At the same time I had a patient in my office that sensitive to all chemicals including the chemicals from a carpet that was 6 months old and from my cologne. He had to wear a mask filled with carbon just to get through a basic eye examination. After quizzing him about his condition I discovered that over 6 million people in the US can't function normally because of toxic chemicals - that means holding down jobs and leading a normal life.

Because of this patient I began to investigate toxic chemicals and how they affect people, particularly my health, my taste, and weight problems. With this information I have lost 70 pounds, gone from a jean size of 50 to 40. I feel better, look better, and my big belly that used to catch food is almost gone. (I no longer catch food on my stomach)

I have discovered that the public is one big toxic chemical experiment by industrial food manufactures, chemical companies that control farm chemicals with Genetically Engineered crops, drug companies and companies that want to dump their waste products without protecting the public.

There are some really good people that write books and educate people about health issues, economic issues, environmental issues, food problems but all these people specialize in certain areas. My job as I see it is to be a reporter and filter the important information to my subscribers.

I have also been a farmer for years and one of my discoveries is that our diseased health economy starts with toxic chemicals and crop land.

I also think it is terrible that when people retire at the age of 65 that 97% are in poverty in this nation. Health Guru : Vitamins Is There Such Thing as Too Much?

You probably hear lots of information about the need to get sufficient amounts of vitamins in your daily diet, and to take a vitamin supplement if you aren't getting those necessary vitamins. If vitamins are good for you, it stands to reason that more is better, right? Actually, overdoing it with vitamins can cause some problems as well. Take a look at some of the more common vitamins and what you can face by getting too much of a good thing.

Vitamin D - Vitamin D is readily available in milk and dairy products, but only those that have been Vitamin D fortified. There are some other sources of this vitamin, with tuna, salmon, sardines and mackerel among those with the higher contents. You also get Vitamin D from sunshine. A lack of Vitamin D causes bone problems, including rickets.

An overdose of Vitamin D will likely first let itself be known in the form of nausea. In extreme cases, loss of appetite, weakness and abnormal heart rhythm can occur.

Despite what some people may think, it's unlikely that you can get an overdose of Vitamin D from the sun. Sunburn will show itself long before your body absorbs enough Vitamin D from the sunshine. Too much calcium in the diet can also cause problems with major organs, including the heart and kidneys.

Vitamin A - Vitamin A is often associated with the 'orange' fruits and vegetables such as carrots, sweet potatoes, oranges and carrots. There are other sources as well, mainly in fruits and vegetables. Vitamin A is good for vision, healthy skin and hair.

An overdose of Vitamin A can result is some serious health risks and will first be seen as headaches, vomiting, dizziness and a lack of coordination in the muscles. Most commonly, Vitamin A toxicity arises from consuming a huge amount of Vitamin A over a short period of time, usually in the form of vitamins as supplements. Damage to the central nervous system or liver, and birth defects are among the possible long-term effects of overdoses of Vitamin A.

Vitamin B - There are several vitamins that make up the group known as the B-Complex vitamins. B6 and B12 are among the more common of that group. Both are touted in connection with healthy hearts and maintaining a youthful appearance, but it�s important to note that there are some important differences in the toxicity potential for vitamins in this group. Notably, there have been few cases of B12 overdoses, especially cases that caused adverse symptoms.

By contrast, B6 typically can result in nerve damage. As a rule, the effects are reversed when the levels of B6 are brought back under control.

As a rule - As a rule, it's difficult to consume sufficient amounts of vitamins to cause severe toxicity. Nausea will typically be your first clue to a problem. Talk to your doctor or health care professional before starting any vitamin regimen or making major changes to your diet.

Ideal wine making utensils to use for boiling ingredients & juices are those consisting of good quality enamel. If possible, try to purchase wine utensils sold under proprietary names, as they are often most reliable. They cannot be chipped.

Cheap enamel utensils often contain lead in the glaze and this might be boiled into the brew. If this happened, the wine would then be dangerous.

If copper or aluminum is used, there could be a slight risk of small particles of the metal being boiled into the brew. This could poison the yeast, which would prevent fermentation.

For fermentation purposes and for soaking fruits and flowers, try using a china vessel or one made of polythene. China vessels should not be too wide at the rim as this exposes too large a surface to the air. A polythene bucket is ideal - but do make sure it is of polythene, as some plastics are not suitable. And choose a pale color or a white one. Where large batches of wine are made, a polythene dustbin makes an excellent fermentation vessel, as does a strong polythene bag, lining a worn-out barrel or similar container.

One advantage of Polythene has is the fact that it is nearly unbreakable. A polythene bucket may be used for all wine-making purposes except boiling the ingredients.

Do not use enamel vessels for fermentation and do not use a galvanized vessel for any part of the wine-making process.
